Top centre pivot replacement and structural realignment
Commercial Door Maintenance and Security Ltd was instructed to attend a Grape Tree branch in Sudbury following issues with the operation of their double aluminium entrance doors. The transom unit serving both doors had failed, resulting in poor control, inconsistent closing action, and increased strain on the door leaves and surrounding framework. As the entrance serves a busy retail environment, it was essential to carry out a permanent repair that would restore both functionality and safety while minimising disruption to daily trading.
To complete the repair correctly, a full transom replacement was required. Both aluminium doors were carefully removed to allow safe access to the existing transom assembly. The failed unit was removed in its entirety and replaced with a new, correctly specified transom system designed to handle the weight and usage demands of double commercial doors. Precision alignment and fixing were critical at this stage to ensure the new transom would operate smoothly and evenly across both door leaves.
