01
Which door hardware brands do CDMS specialise in?
We work across all the major commercial door hardware brands in the UK: Dorma / dormakaba (closers, floor springs, automatic operators); Geze (automatic doors and closers); Briton (UK-made closers and panic hardware); Adams Rite (APG and aluminium-door locks); Vachette and Brimar (heritage commercial hardware); Yale, Union and ASSA Abloy (mortice locks, cylinders, access control). Each brand has its own page on this hub.
02
Can you source a specific part number from any brand?
In most cases, yes. We hold the highest-volume parts on the vans for same-day repair; less-common parts come direct from UK distribution with same-day or next-day shipping. Send a part number or a photo of the existing hardware and we'll quote the supply and fit price together.
03
Are these brands interchangeable on existing doors?
Many are — universal-fit closers retro-fit competitor housings; universal-fit hookbolt locks retro-fit competitor mortice cases. Some brands need brand-match replacement (BS-rated insurance specifications, restricted-key systems, brand-specific operator housings). We diagnose which on site and quote both routes where a choice exists.
04
Do you stock spares for end-of-line or heritage brands?
Yes for current production brands; for end-of-line brands (heritage Brimar, older Vachette) we substitute with current-standard equivalents and document the swap for compliance evidence on fire-rated doors.
05
Can you specify hardware for a new build or refurb?
Yes — we work directly with architects, specifiers and main contractors to specify door hardware brand-by-brand on new commercial entrances. Specification work includes the BS / EN / UKCA compliance documentation, fire-door certification where relevant, and a single point of contact for sourcing through to install.
