Precision servicing and upgrades during a live showroom renovation
Commercial Door Maintenance and Security Ltd was appointed to carry out servicing works on two sets of double sliding aluminium doors at a new Mercedes showroom undergoing renovation in Bristol. As a high-profile automotive environment, the doors required precise operation, reliability, and a premium finish consistent with the brand image of the showroom. Our involvement formed part of a wider renovation programme, requiring careful planning and close coordination with other contractors on site to ensure progress continued smoothly without disrupting the overall build schedule.
During the initial visit, our engineers carried out a comprehensive assessment of both sets of sliding doors and identified the need for new door closers and transoms across all door leaves. These components are critical to ensuring smooth, controlled movement and long-term durability in busy commercial environments. The installation of the new closers and transoms significantly improved the operation of the doors, ensuring consistent alignment, controlled closing action, and a professional presentation suitable for a flagship showroom space.
Due to the complexity of the installation and the live nature of the site, a second visit was required to fit additional components once other trades had completed adjacent works. On one of the sliding doors, further investigation revealed severely worn floor rollers that were in poor condition and impacting the door’s ability to run freely along its track. These rollers were replaced with new, correctly specified units, restoring smooth, effortless movement and preventing further strain on the door system and surrounding structure.
