Intumescent Stripping Replacement
We surveyed the aluminium double entrance doors, measured clearances and removed worn or missing seals. New intumescent fire and smoke seals were installed around the leaf and frame, with continuous EPDM/brush weather stripping to the head, jambs and threshold. Hinges and closers were adjusted for correct closing speeds and consistent latch.
Final checks confirmed even gaps, firm compression of the seals and a smooth, quiet close. Work was completed out of hours to avoid disruption, with before/after photos and a short report confirming the doors are now weather-tight and back in line with fire-safety expectations.
Following a fast on-site assessment, we specified a like-for-like upgrade of the door sealing system. The team removed degraded materials, cleaned the frame channels and fitted new intumescent fire/smoke seals alongside durable perimeter weather seals. We re-set the door closer to achieve full, controlled closure against the seals and re-aligned keeps for efficient latching.
The upgrade reduces air and water ingress, improves thermal performance and restores the intended fire/smoke containment function. Handover included photos, gap measurements and operational tests documented for the client's records.
