Specialist transom, pivot, and closer repairs to restore compliance
Commercial Door Maintenance and Security Ltd was instructed to attend the Edmundson Electrical branch in Burnley following issues with their aluminium entrance doors. Upon inspection, it was identified that critical components within the door system had failed, affecting both the operation and compliance of the entrance. Given the importance of safe, controlled door operation in a commercial and fire-regulated environment, a comprehensive repair was required to restore the doors to the correct working condition.
To access the defective components, the aluminium door was carefully removed from its top spindle insert within the transom closer. This allowed our engineer to gain full access to the broken bottom pivot, saddle, and shoe, all of which play a vital role in supporting the door and maintaining alignment. A new bespoke star-shaped NHO transom closer unit was installed, complete with a bespoke female bracket, ensuring compatibility with the existing door system and providing reliable, controlled closing action.
