What we install and repair from the Geze range
On the automatic-door side, the Slimdrive SL and Slimdrive SC sliding operators are our most-frequently-handled Geze products. Both go on retail entrances, healthcare main doors and office lobbies. Repair work focuses on the drive belt, sensor calibration and the safety presence scanners — see automatic door repair for the service silo.
On the swing-door side, the TSA-160 NT is the operator we fit when a manual swing door needs to be converted for accessibility. Common faults: operator arm wear, sensor mis-alignment, low-energy mode calibration. See failed automatic sensors for the diagnosis routine.
On the closer side, the TS-3000 and TS-5000 cover most Geze closer specs we encounter in the UK. The TS-3000 is the lighter unit; the TS-5000 is rated for heavy fire-door installations. See commercial door closer repair.
Why Geze is specified for automatic doors in particular
The Slimdrive range's "slim" profile is the technical differentiator — the operator housing is only 7 cm deep, which lets architects install automatic doors above glass shopfronts and minimal-bezel office entrances without disturbing the visual line. Competitive operators (older Dorma ES, Record, Tormax) have noticeably deeper housings.
For accessibility retrofits, the TSA-160 NT supports both low-energy and full-power modes from the same hardware. That lets a single specification cover both light-traffic accessible swing doors and full-traffic accessible main entrances, which simplifies specification and reduces inventory across multi-site retail and healthcare estates.
Common Geze faults
Sliding operator belt wear — the standard 7–10 year service item on a Slimdrive. Symptoms: slow opening, intermittent re-cycling. Belt replacement is a half-day job.
Safety presence sensor (GC-338 and similar) contamination — sensor windows accumulate dust and fingerprints; calibration drifts. Sensor replacement or cleaning is the route.
TSA operator arm wear — mechanical end-of-life. Arm assembly replacement is the standard fix.
TS-5000 closer leaks — sealed body, replacement is the fix. See failed transoms for the broader diagnostic pattern.
Sourcing and stock
We hold common Geze spares on the vans — Slimdrive belts and drive units, GC-338 motion sensors, GC-342 presence sensors, TSA operator arm components, TS-3000 and TS-5000 spring packs. Less-common parts (heritage TSA-100, older Slimdrive variants, GC-150-series sensors) come direct from Geze UK distribution with same-day or next-day shipping.
For new installations or major retrofits we work to the architect’s or specifier’s Geze part numbers. Where the specified part is end-of-line, we propose the current Geze equivalent and document the swap for compliance.
Service contracts on Geze automatic doors
UK Health & Safety guidance requires automatic-door safety sensors to be tested and certified to manufacturer standard at the manufacturer-specified interval. For Geze that's usually quarterly on high-traffic doors and annually on low-traffic. Our automatic door service contracts include the Geze-standard sensor test and a written certificate after each visit.
