Parking barrier repair & installation

• Impact damage. The most common by a mile: a vehicle meets the arm. Arms and breakaway fittings are replaceable parts — we swap the arm and inspect the drive train for hidden shock damage before it fails a month later.
• Balance spring fatigue. The spring does the lifting; the motor only steers. A tired spring makes the barrier slow, noisy and hard on the motor, and a snapped one stops it dead. Spring replacement and re-tensioning restores the balance.
• Motor and gearbox wear. Hundreds of cycles a day wear gears and burn motors, especially on barriers doing work a spring should be doing. We repair or replace like-for-like.
• Detection faults. Ground loops cut during resurfacing, drifted loop detectors and blocked or misaligned photocells leave barriers refusing to open — or refusing to close. Diagnosed with proper test kit, not guesswork.
• Control faults. Water in the cabinet, failed relays, dead remotes and fob receivers, lightning-tripped boards. Cabinet electrics are half of barrier reliability.

Under PUWER 1998 a powered barrier is workplace equipment and must be maintained so it cannot strike or trap anyone. Every repair we complete ends with the safety devices — photocells, loops, force limits — tested and working, and a note for your maintenance file.
