What we install and repair from the Yale range
Mortice locks: BS 3621-certified 5-lever sashlocks and deadlocks are the standard insurance-compliant specification on commercial side and rear entrance doors. We carry common Yale 5-lever cases for same-day replacement.
Multipoint locks: BS 8621-rated multipoint mechanisms (top, centre and bottom locking points) cover commercial entrance doors that need single-key operation across all three points. Yale's multipoint range covers most UK door manufacturer profiles.
Security cylinders: Yale Superior series 1, 2 and 3 (and the older Yale 3-star certified equivalents) cover the EN 1303 security tiers from standard commercial through to anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-bump and anti-drill high-security applications. Most insurance-led upgrades use Superior 1 or 2 as a minimum.

Why Yale dominates UK commercial lock specification
Three reasons. Insurance recognition — UK commercial property insurance policies routinely call out BS 3621 and BS 8621 specifications by name; Yale's product range covers both with the strongest brand recognition in the UK insurance market. Parts depth — Yale spares, cylinder profiles and key blanks are stocked through more UK distribution points than any other commercial lock brand. Scale — Yale's Smart product range covers retail, hospitality and small-office electronic access control without needing a separate access-control specialist.
Common Yale faults
Cylinder wear — standard key-cycle end-of-life. Cylinder replacement is the standard fix; we transfer the existing keying where required.
5-lever sashlock mechanism failure — lever springs lose tension over 15–20 years; replacement is the route.
Multipoint mechanism stiffness — gearbox-end-of-life on heavily used commercial doors. Replacement of the gearbox is the standard fix.
Yale Smart Lock battery and motor failure — battery replacement first; motor unit replacement if the issue persists.
Sourcing and stock
We hold common Yale spares on the vans — Superior 1 and Superior 2 cylinder bodies, 5-lever sashlock cases, common multipoint gearboxes and Yale Smart Lock battery units. Less-common items (Superior 3, heritage cylinder profiles, Yale Smart Living electronics) come direct from Assa Abloy UK distribution with same-day or next-day shipping.
For specification work and insurance-led upgrades we work to the policy's required certification (BS 3621, BS 8621, EN 1303 grade) and document the fitted hardware on a written compliance certificate.
Yale Smart and electronic access control
The Yale Smart Lock and Yale Smart Living range covers electronic deadbolts, smart cylinders, video door entry and small-business access control. For retrofit on existing commercial doors, the smart cylinder option lets a single key-card or mobile-credential system operate doors that previously needed individual keys. For larger-scale electronic access control (multi-door, scheduled access, audit logging) Yale Smart is the wrong fit — we specify Paxton, Salto or Assa Abloy commercial access-control systems for that scale of installation.
