Commercial Door Maintenance & Security Ltd was engaged by Footlocker in Bristol following a critical incident in which the main APG glass entrance door was smashed and completely shattered. As the store relies on a safe, professional entrance for high customer footfall, our priority was to respond quickly, make the area safe, and restore full operation without impacting trading more than necessary.
We immediately sourced a supplier capable of rapid manufacturing a like-for-like large glass door to suit the existing APG system. Managing the logistics end-to-end, we arranged collection from the fabricator and coordinated a permitted delivery to the city-centre site. This ensured compliant access for the vehicle and safe handling of the oversized glazed panel.
Once on site, our engineers made the opening safe, removing and disposing of all shattered glass. We stripped back, cleaned and inspected the existing hardware, addressing any contamination from the breakage. The floor spring was replaced to guarantee smooth, controlled closing, and all fixings, pivots and clamps were checked and adjusted to manufacturer-appropriate tolerances.
